in the “strange case of dr jekyll and mr hyde a london lawyer who investigates strange occurrences between his friend, dr henry jekyll, and one edward hyde. the work is known for its vivid portrayal of a split personality; “jekyll and hyde” has come to mean a person who may show a distinctly different character, or profoundly different behaviour, from one situation to the next, as if almost another person.
i had such “jekyll and hyde” moments this weekend. i have some molars coming in (we think) and let me tell you, if they don’t hurt. so i didn’t really want to eat my bottle at all, and i didn’t sleep all that well during the day. but i wasn’t all bad – mom and dad say it is hard to get or stay upset at me because i am so adorable, and sweet. well, gosh – i don’t know what to say. i mean, it would be hard to get mad at this.
i would be playing along, happy as a clam, and then the next moment i would feel some pain or something would happen and since i was hungry and tired (from not being able to eat or sleep well) i would turn into a crying, raging baby. then after a few moments, i would turn back into my lovely self. i was happiest when i was outside. i get lost during stroller rides and like to look at everything going on. i also enjoyed playing in the yard and on the porch – those times i stayed away from foul moods.
i also gained some skills walking this weekend. i am pretty much walking as my primary form of transportation (aside from strolling and being carried). i will crawl if i need to get somewhere quickly (like zeus’ food dish or some other thing that mom or dad have left out that i shouldn’t get into). but i was turning as i was walking, and even walking backwards. if i was walking in one direction and saw something happen behind me, i would do a 360 and head that way. i thought that was a fairly large achievement. the backwards thing i can only do a few steps and then i get tripped up, but before long i’ll be ice skating backwards and playing for the red wings.

Jack..tell mom and dad, a little dab of whiskey transfered from their finger to your gums might work real magic for this molar period in your life….worked wonders on generations of my family (although some may say it led a few to other nasty habits)..!!!

Love you and will see you soon,
